Villa d'Este FAQ
Is this the official Villa d'Este website?
No. We are a visitor guide: the official website belongs to the organisation that manages the villa. Villa d'Este is managed by the Istituto Villa Adriana e Villa d'Este (Villae) of the Italian Ministry of Culture. The tours we list are sold by our partner Tiqets.
Is Villa d'Este open on Mondays?
Yes, but only in the afternoon: on Mondays it opens at 14:00 (2 pm). On other days it opens at 8:30.
When does the Fountain of the Organ play?
Every day from 10:30, every two hours.
When is entry free?
On the first Sunday of every month, 25 April, 2 June and 4 November. On 8 March entry is free for women.
How long does the visit take?
At least two hours; allow half a day to enjoy the gardens and apartments at a relaxed pace.
Where is the exit?
You leave through the Piazza Campitelli gate, which is different from the entrance on Piazza Trento.
