The Villae Pass is a combined ticket for the sites managed by the Istituto Villa Adriana e Villa d’Este (Villae) in Tivoli. It includes Villa Adriana (Hadrian’s Villa), Villa d’Este, the Sanctuary of Hercules Victor and the Mensa Ponderaria. It suits visitors who want to see more than one of these sites. We do not state a price, because current official pricing is not confirmed; check the Villae website.
What sites are included in the Villae Pass?
| Site | What it is |
|---|---|
| Villa Adriana | The ancient Roman villa of Emperor Hadrian, built between 118 and 138 AD, over 120 hectares |
| Villa d’Este | The 16th-century Renaissance villa with its fountain garden |
| Sanctuary of Hercules Victor | A site in Tivoli included in the pass |
| Mensa Ponderaria | A site in Tivoli included in the pass |
The list comes from the Villae website and the Ministry of Culture. We do not have verified opening hours or details for the last two sites, so check before you plan.
The pass does not list Villa Gregoriana. That is a separate park run by FAI, with its own ticket.
Who is the Villae Pass good for?
- Visitors seeing both villas. If you want Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este, a single pass is simpler than two tickets. See Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este in one day.
- People with more than a day. If you can spread the sites over several days, a pass can make sense. Check the validity period on the official site, as unofficial guides give figures we have not verified.
- Travellers who like flexibility. You can plan your own order and your own pace.
Who might not need it?
- Visitors seeing only Villa d’Este. A single ticket may be enough: see tickets.
- People on free days. If you come on a free entry day, you may not need to pay for Villa d’Este. See free entry days.
- People who prefer a guided tour. Tours from Rome include transport and entry, so they replace the need for a pass. See tours from Rome.
How much does the Villae Pass cost?
We cannot confirm the current price. The pass was launched in 2021 at 25 euros, and unofficial guides report a higher figure today and a validity of 3 days, but we have not verified these. Official ticket prices for Villa d’Este also appear differently across sources, so we recommend reading the current figure directly on the official tickets and hours page, which links to the official ticket office (midaticket).
What is Villae 365?
The Villae website also lists a pass called Villae 365. We do not have verified details on its price or conditions, so look at the official site if you live nearby or plan to return.
How do I buy it?
Use the official ticket office linked from the Villae page. A digital version with a digital postcard also appears on a reseller, Tiqets; the price was not confirmed when we checked. You can find booking options through the buttons on this page.
Practical points for using a pass
- Check which sites you want first. A pass only makes sense if you will actually use more than one site.
- Check opening days. Villa d’Este is closed on 1 January, 25 December and Monday mornings. See opening hours.
- Plan around the Organ show. It plays from 10:30 and every two hours: Fountain of the Organ.
- Allow time. At least 2 hours for Villa d’Este and a lot more for Hadrian’s Villa.
